Depends on what you mean by shafted. She’s never a main character outside of the Aincrad arc and Mother’s Rosario. And she won’t be present much in the first half of the new anime material beyond interludes.

She’s still always there doing her thing though and has a pretty important role to play both inside and outside the game. She won’t get near the screen time as the new deutergonist though.
