bengiffer:

The thing I have the hardest time believing in ALfienhiem, was how orginized the factions were. Like yeah I get how at first it was more advantageous to work with members of your own race, but I doubt the entire population of a single race would follow a player led government. Even the guilds and stuff in Sword Art Online were fractioned off in smaller groups that only worked together every once and a while, and that’s when the stakes were real. I just highly doubt a gaming population so large would follow such a player based leadership.

The army didn’t fall apart because of it’s size, it fell apart because after it left the front lines it joined with another guild and then had two leaders that were at odds.  And even after that it still existed as a guild.

At least half of Alfheim players don’t play the race politic game and instead party in mixed races.  That number undoubtedly went up when New Aincrad was introduced.
