“It took me a while to notice, but part of why I love SAO so much is because I’ve got to experience these characters and story growing up with me. [I was 15 when I first started watching the show. Four years later now and I’m reading about Kirito and the others being my current age, participating in a much more mature, complex plot. SAO showed me mentally ill characters I could relate to during a time I was struggling and a fanbase where I felt welcome unlike any other. And I’ll always be thankful for it.]“
